Managing Digital SKUs
0.7 min read
|A digital SKU is a SKU without physical inventory in a warehouse. The following are examples of possible digital SKUs: gift cards, donations, subscriptions.
To manage manage your SKUs in the Order Management, follow these instructions:
Order Management > Products > New Product

Step 1: Create the Digital SKU within your product catalog as a Core Product

Step 2: Create or Add a Label to your Core Product for Digital SKU

Step 3: Enter the appropriate Listing SKU for your Digital SKU (i.e. what is the SKU listing on your sales channel that your customer would purchase)

Step 4: Once your Core Product is created for your Digital SKU, add a phantom inventory value for the Digital SKU.
A phantom inventory value is needed because Extensiv will not view the Digital SKU as out-of-stock. The phantom inventory allows Extensiv to process the order. It is recommended to enter 1,000,000 as the inventory QTY or any number that would take you several years to sell through so that you do not have to update this inventory value frequently.

Step 5: Create an Orderbot to split your Digital SKUs from the order, and then automatically mark the order as Shipped.
