Packing Orders
There are several different methods available for packing your orders in 3PL Warehouse Manager, in which each packing option is briefly reviewed below.
Please note that it is always best practice to pack an order once it has reached a 'Complete' status.
To pack an order, you must have the following permission assigned to your user role: Orders Module > Edit Orders > Process Packages.
Pack orders with SmartPack
SmartPack is the most efficient method of packing orders in 3PL Warehouse Manager, requiring a subscription and configuration. Once SmartPack is fully configured, you can start packing from the Orders module. See Packing in the Small Parcel Space to get started.
Pack orders with SmartScan
SmartScan's packing functionality allows you to specify package contents from a single handheld device. To pack orders using SmartScan, you must have a subscription to our latest scanning solution and a supported scanning device. Please see Packing Orders with SmartScan for further guidelines.
Process packages
The 'Process Packages' feature allows you to manually indicate your package contents and is best to use if SmartPack doesn't fit your business needs and if your package contents typically vary from order to order. Please see Processing Packages for instructions on how to pack orders using this feature.
Consolidate packages
The 'Consolidate Packages' feature is the best method to pack your orders if they usually consist of the same packaging units. Please see Consolidating Packages for further guidelines.
Recalculate packages
The 'Recalculate Packages' feature defines the packaging unit of measure (UOM) based on the dimensions you have defined under item setup. For more information on this packing method, please see Recalculating Packages.
Pack orders with an API integration
If you have API access to 3PL Warehouse Manager, you can perform any of the above methods of packing orders with supported API keys. For more information, please visit our Developer community in 3PL Central Community. If you aren't a current member of our community forum, please specify that you are a current customer or developer in your application—otherwise, we may deny your request.
